Proposition E: Appointment to the Public Utilities Commission (Board of Supervisors)

WHAT: Requires confirmation by the Board of Supervisors of all members of all five members of the Public Utilities Commission who are appointed by the mayor. Sets qualifications for members of the commission.

Proponents: Sponsored by Supervisor Maxwell and supported by seven other supervisors.

Opponents: Supervisors Alioto-Pier and Chu, Mayor Newsom

NOTE: Our No Endorsement vote was mainly due to uncertainty about the effects of having to re-appoint all five members of the board at once in August. Can this be done in the Supes vs Mayor environment?
